Abstract Crucible CPM S60V is a high-vanadium modification of 440C stainless steel with significantly increased wear resistance and comparable corrosion resistance. It is excellent for use in equipment components processing polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic, or any tooling in contact with mildly acidic aqueous solutions. The usual application hardness is 62 to 64 HRC. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, microstructure, hardness, and elasticity as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as heat treating and machining. Filing Code: SS-489. Producer or source: Crucible Service Centers. Originally published as CRUCIBLE CPM T440V, August 1987, revised October 2003.
