Abstract NITRONIC 33 is characterized by (1) High yield strength, (2) Good resistance to stress-corrosion cracking, (3) Low magnetic permeability even after severe cold working, (4) Excellent strength and ductility at cryogenic temperatures, and (5) Good resistance to wear and galling; in fact, in these specific areas NITRONIC 33 is superior to AISI Type 304 stainless steel. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on low and high temperature performance, corrosion and wear resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-324. Producer or source: Armco Steel Corporation, Advanced Materials Division. See also Alloy Digest SS-1142, April 2013.
