Abstract 1070, C67S, CS70, S70CM, S70C, and S70C-CSP are wrought high-carbon non-alloy steels that are typically used in the cold reduced, patented and cold drawn, quenched and tempered, or austempered condition. 1070 is also suitable for flame and induction hardening. 1070, C67S, CS70, S70CM, S70C, and S70C-CSP are widely used for highly stressed parts that require higher strength levels than can be achieved with the lower carbon grades. These steels are also used for applications where higher carbon content is needed to improve wear characteristics. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, microstructure, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on low and high temperature performance, and wear resistance as well as forming and heat treating. Filing Code: CS-271.
