Abstract

El estudio tiene como objetivo analizar la situación laboral e institucional del profesorado de tiempo parcial que, además de desempeñar actividades docentes, realiza investigación como parte del Sistema Nacional de Investigadoras e Investigadores en México. Se busca examinar cómo su condición laboral afecta el reconocimiento del mérito académico y científico en el contexto institucional de una universidad pública estatal, en específico, docentes de dos diferentes centros universitarios de la Universidad de Guadalajara. Se utilizó una estrategia metodológica cualitativa que articuló la participación de diez profesores investigadores de tiempo parcial mediante entrevistas semiestructuradas (presenciales y virtuales). El trabajo de campo se llevó a cabo entre enero y mayo de 2024. Los resultados muestran dimensiones asociadas a las dificultades, inequidades, motivaciones y consecuencias que enfrentan estos docentes al realizar actividades de investigación, las cuales se interpretan desde una aproximación teórica relacionada con el concepto de mérito. Por último, el estudio permite comprender a un actor relativamente nuevo dentro de la profesión académica mexicana, así como algunas de las principales problemáticas que lo circunscriben en los ámbitos laboral, institucional y personal.
