Emmanuela Lévinasa krytyka filozofii Parmenidesa

Abstract

Niniejszy artykuł stanowi próbę analizy stosunku Emmanuela Lévinasa do filozofii starożytnej na przykładzie poglądów Parmenidesa z Elei. Krytykując ontologiczną tradycję filozofii zachodniej, Lévi­nas identyfikuje jej źródło w myśli Parmenidesa, obarczając go pośrednią odpowiedzialnością za totalizujący sposób myślenia negujący transcendencję. Ostrą kontrę wobec tej tradycji stanowi metafizyka Nieskończoności, w której odmienność zastępuje tożsamość, a heteronomia – autonomię. Warto więc rozważyć genezę tej krytyki oraz zarzuty, jakie Lévi­nas stawia zachodniej ontologii.
