Abstract

Perkembangan zaman yang ditandai dengan pesatnya perkembangan teknologi dan infomasi ditambah dengan pandangan yang merasuki sikap masyarakat tentang hidup. Tradisi menganyam tikar purun dianggap penting karena harga bahan baku yang murah serta banyak terdapat di lahan gambut. Wanita-wanita di Desa Palukahan kecamatan Danau Panggang HSU juga beranggapan bahwa menganyam tikar purun dapat membantu kehidupan sehari-hari, sehingga masyarakat berharap nanti para penerusnya dapat terbantu perekonomiannya.
