Abstract

Model ARDL diperkenalkan oleh Pesaran et al. (2001) untuk mengakomodir variabel pada tingkat I(0) dan I(1) dalam estimasi yang sama. Pada umumnya jika variabel stasioner pada level I(0) maka peneliti dapat menggunakan metode OLS, dan jika seluruhnya berada pada turunan pertama I(1) yang tidak stasioner maka disarankan untuk menggunakan VECM (Johanson Approach) karena modelnya lebih sederhana. Metode OLS konvensional tidak bisa digunakan pada variabel yang apabila salah satu dari mereka atau semuanya berada pada (1). Hal ini terjadi karena perilaku tidak bisa digambarkan oleh konstanta yang diperlukan dalam metode OLS. Sedangkan dalam OLS sebagian besar hal tersebut akan berubah karena data yang berjenis deret waktu. Ini akan menyebabkan hasil yang bias padahal menunjukkan uji t yang tinggi. Nilai dan hasil yang signifikan hanya karena sifat time series yang umum, dalam ekonometrika disebut hasil palsu. Palsu saat model R2 menjadi lebih tinggi dari DW-Statistik. Sehingga diperlukan model baru yang dapat bekerja pada variabel I(1).
