“Escritura” y “lectura” de gráficas cartesianas en un ambiente digital

Abstract

El lenguaje desempeña un papel fundamental en el aprendizaje de las matemáticas. En el caso concreto de dicha ciencia no podemos hablar de un único lenguaje, ya que son numerosos los tipos de lenguaje. Las gráficas cartesianas digitales son artefactos de mediación en el proceso de apropiación de los conceptos matemáticos. El estudio escritura” y “lectura” de gráficas cartesianas en un ambiente digital se realizó con estudiantes de la carrera de Agricultura Sustentable y Protegida, en la Universidad Tecnológicas de Oriental (UTO). Los alumnos participantes, observaron como la imagen de su “andar” proyectada a través del sensor de movimiento y una computadora como mediadores proyectaba una gráfica cartesiana. Los alumnos encontraron que la velocidad tiene una relación directa con la inclinación, es decir, la mediación entre el sensor de movimientos y la computadora nos aporta un ejercicio de “lectura” y “escritura” sui generis, que permite al alumno reconocer y relacionar las características gráfica de la representación con su movimiento, como si el alumno “escribiera” las características de su velocidad, con su movimiento, a través de la tecnología digital; o como si el alumno hiciera una “lectura” de comprensión de la imagen a través de la gráfica cartesiana.
