Desempeño neuropsicológico en adultos mayores

Abstract

La población adulta mayor ha tenido un incremento a nivel mundial debido a los avances tecnológicos, farmacéuticos e investigativos, además del descenso en los índices de natalidad y el aumento de la esperanza de vida. El objetivo del presente estudio fue realizar la caracterización neuropsicológica de 450 adultos mayores, divididos en tres grupos (institucionalizados,jubilados y trabajadores). edades entre 55 y 75 (X=66.2) y S (6.5). Se aplicó formato de historia clínica y los instrumentos: minimental estandarizada para Colombia. prueba neuropsicológica breve (NEUROPSI). Se utilizó un diseño no experimental transaccional descriptivo comparativo; el grupo que muestra un menor rendimiento cognitivo con los institucionalizados en comparación con los individuos de los grupos trabajadores y jubilados, siendo el proceso de memoria (evocación, trabajo y aprendizaje) y funciones ejecutivas (dorsolaterales: fluidez verbal, resolución de problemas y programación motora) los procesos con mayor afectación.
