Evaluación del desempeño neuropsicológico en condenados por homicidio simple y homicidio agravado

Abstract

El homicidio es un delito de alto impacto social por las consecuencias directas (víctimas mortales) e indirectas (impacto en las familias y temor en la comunidad), que merece ser objeto de estudios que ayuden a su prevención, así como al tratamiento de los victimarios. Este estudio de tipo descriptivo comparativo de corte transversal, caracterizó el desempeño neuropsicológico de 80 hombres recluidos en una cárcel de mediana seguridad, condenados por homicidio (40 homicidio simple y 40 homicidio agravado). Con edades de 18 a 55 años (X= 33.75 DE=7.6). Se utilizó la batería neuropsicológica breve (NEUROPSI), que arroja una medida global de la actividad cognitiva. Los resultados se analizaron mediante pruebas no paramétricas (U MannWhitney y Chi2), se observaron diferencias significativas mínimas en el desempeño de los dos grupos; el grupo de homicidio agravado se mantuvo por debajo del grupo de homicidio simple; se encontró relación entre el bajo desempeño neuropsicológico y la conducta homicida incluyendo afectación en funciones cognitivas superiores, en especial en funciones ejecutivas.
