174 In manufacturing, many components contain holes. In such components, as a rule, the holes are bored on multiposition and multitool equipment or by means of multispindle heads. In any case, drilling is the first operation and largely determines the overall precision of hole production. In drilling holes, their size and shape precision and the configuration of their axes is unstable, as indicated by statistical data on the precision of hole drilling at various plants. Our physi cal understanding of the errors in hole machining by multicutter end tools will be more complete if we take account of synchronization in the machining of a sys tem of holes by several tools [1, 2]. Therefore, syn chronization effects in the simultaneous drilling of several holes by multitool heads deserve particular attention, since we know that the precision is greatly reduced in that case [3].
