Adición de Leopardus Wiedii (Carnívora: Felidae) a la mastofauna de la provincia de Corrientes (Argentina)

Abstract

El margay Leopardus wiedii es un pequeño félido que se distribuye desde México hasta norte de Uruguay. En Argentina contaba con registros solo en las provincias de Salta, Jujuy y Misiones. Aunque había sido mencionado nominalmente para la provincia de Corrientes, no existían evidencias de su presencia. Presentamos aquí los primeros registros documentados de la especie en la provincia de Corrientes, obtenidos entre 2012 y 2019. Estos hallazgos permiten adicionar a L. wiedii al ensamble de carnívoros de Corrientes, y extienden su distribución 65 km al sur de la localidad más próxima conocida en Misiones, constituyendo así los registros más meridionales conocidos en Argentina.
