Cariotipos y estudios meióticos en varias especies de Piriqueta (Turneraceae)

Abstract

Los cariotipos de seis especies del género Piriqueta se describen por primera vez. El número cromosómico básico es x = 7. Cuatro especies son diploides, P.cistoides ssp. cistoides y P.racemosa con 2n = 2x = 14 = 14 m; P.australis 2n = 2x = 14 = 12m + 2sm; P.duarteana, 2n = 2x = 14 = 12m + 2st; P.rosea, con dos citotipos, diploide (14m) y tetraploide (28 m) y P.taubatensis, una especie poliploide, con 2n = 6x = 42 = 38m + 4sm. La especie diploide, P.cistoides, P.racemosa, P.australis, P.ochroleuca y P.sidifolia var. multiflora, presentan meiosis regular, con 7 II, mientras que el apareamiento en P.taubatensis muestra multivalentes, lo que sugiere que esta especie es un alohexaploide segmentario. Los cariotipos difieren en los niveles de ploidía, la simetría, el número de metacéntricos, submetacéntricos y subtelocentricos, y número y posición de constricciones secundarias. En algunas de las especies hay diferencias de intensidad de la tinción de los bivalentes.
