DEGRADASI PEWARNA SINTESIS MENGGUNAKAN FOTOKATALIS BERBASIS TIO2

Abstract

Penelitian yang dilakukan meliputi sintesis TiO2 menggunakan metode Sol-Gel dan studi fotokatalis Reaksi degradasi metil jingga (MJ) dan metil biru (MB) oleh fotokatalis diuji menggunakan larutan konsentrasi 5 ppm. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan setiap 30 menit selama 5 jam. Deteksi sampel menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-VIS dengan panjang gelombang sepanjang 464 nm. Hasil fotolisis zat warna metil jingga masing-masing sebesar 14,17% dan 12,62% untuk UVA dan UVC. Sedangkan degradasi menggunakan UVC/TiO2 dan UVA/TiO2 masing-masing sebesar 58,49% dan 65,55%. Variasi pH dan konsentrasi MO juga dilakukan. Hasil optimum pada pH 7 sebesar 37,08% dan 27,33% masing-masing sebesar 10 ppm dan 15 ppm. Fotokatalis TiO2/UVC digunakan untuk mendegradasi variasi konsentrasi MB. Sejumlah 0,5, 0,75 dan 1 gr TiO2 yang dikontakkan dengan 500 ml MB. Variasi konsentrasi MB yaitu, 5 ppm, 10 ppm, dan 15 ppm dipelajari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa degradasi metilen biru pada dosis 5 ppm berturut-turut sebesar 53,36%, 42,99% dan 18,85% untuk 0,5, 0,75 dan 1 gr TiO2.
