The study aims to identify linguoculturological features of the metaphorical models participating in formation of the terms belonging to the sphere “Old Russian Architecture”, using the material of the Russian and English languages. The study is novel in that it is the first to examine metaphorization features of the terms belonging to the sphere “Old Russian Architecture” from the aspect of linguoculturology. As a result of the study, the authors have identified features of term formation based on metaphorical transfer, traced connection between scientific and everyday knowledge and emphasized influence of culture on choice of the objects, phenomena and properties that form a basis of the terminological metaphor.
