Pemanfaatan Serat Daun Nanas (Ananas Comosus) Dan Serat Kulit Durian (Durio Zibethinus) Sebagai Bahan Pengisi Papan Gipsum

Abstract

<p>Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah papan gipsum dapat diproduksi dengan memanfaatkan serat daun nanas dan serat kulit durian, karakteristik yang dihasilkan, dan komposisi pencampuran yang optimum. Bahan yang digunakan dalam pembuatan papan gipsum adalah serat daun nanas, serat kulit durian dan tepung gipsum dengan variasi sampel A (7%:0%:93%), B (4%:3%:93%), C (3%: 4%:93%), D (0%:7%:93%) dan Faktor Air Semen (FAS) sebesar 0,5 digunakan untuk semua variasi. Pengeringan papan gipsum dilakukan selama 10 hari pada suhu ruangan. Karakterisasi yang dilakukan pada benda uji adalah karakterisasi fisik (densitas dan serapan air), karakterisasi mekanik (kuat lentur dan kuat patah) dan Scanning Electron Microscopy. Papan gipsum dapat diproduksi dengan memanfaatkan serat daun nanas dan serat kulit durian. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan hampir seluruh karakteristik sifat fisik dan mekanik memenuhi SNI 01-4449-2006 dan nilai sampel B berada pada kondisi optimum. Karakteristik papan gipsum pada uji sifat fisik: nilai kepadatan 1,32 g/cm3. Nilai serapan air sebesar 26,43g/cm3. Uji sifat mekanik nilai kuat lentur sebesar 14.857.447,4 kgf/cm2 dan nilai kuat patah sebesar 1592,1 kgf/cm2. Secara umum sampel tidak tersebar merata dengan luas pori 30,161% hingga 43,914%.</p>
