Monitoring Kualitas Air Limbah PT XYZ

Abstract

Industri susu merupakan suatu industri yang mengolah susu mentah menjadi susu sterilisasi yang dapat di konsumsi oleh semua kalangan usia. Industri susu erat kaitannya dengan dari limbah cair yang hasilkan, menurut PT XYZ limbah cair yang masuk kedalam Instalansi Pengolahan Limbah cair (IPAL) sebesar 3011 m3/bulan. Apabila limbah cair ini langsung disalurkan ke badan air dapat mencemari lingkungan yang terdampak, sehingga perlu dilakukan proses pengolahan dan monitoring limbah cair. Proses pengolahan limbah cair mengkombinasikan proses pengolahan secara fisik, kimia dan biologi. Memonitoring limbah cair merupakan salah satu cara mengetahui seberapa banyak kadar tercemarnya limbah cair tersebut, dengan menggunakan beberapa parameter limbah cair yang terdapat di dalam limbah cair. Proses monitoring ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mempermudah para pekerja untuk mengetahui parameter pada inlet dan outlet limbah cair pada sebuah industri. Metode yang digunakan dalam memonitoring limbah cair dilakukan di laboratorium IPAL dengan parameter pH, COD, TSS dan BOD. Pemilihan parameter BOD, COD, TSS, dan pH didasarkan pada Peraturan Gubernur Jatim No 72 Tahun 2013 untuk industri pengolahan susu dan es krim dilakukan analisis limbah cair secara berkala satu bulan sekali. Berdasarkan hasil Analisis setiap bulan pada saluran inlet, memiliki nilai BOD, COD, TSS dan pH yang tinggi namun setelah mengalami proses pengolahan secara fisik, kimia, dan biologi hasil outlet yang dikeluarkan telah memenuhi baku mutu sesuai dengan Pergub Jatim no 72 tahun 2013 untuk Industri Pengolahan Susu dan Es krim.
