Abstract

Suspensi adalah sediaan yang mengandung bahan obat padat dalam bentuk halus dan tidak larut, terdispersi dalam cairan pembawa. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah adakah pengaruh CMC-Na, karbomer, tragakan sebagai suspending agent dan manakah yang paling baik digunakan sebagai suspending agent terhadap sifat fisik suspensi pirantel pamoat ? Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh CMC-Na, karbomer, tragakan dan mengetahui mana yang paling baik digunakan terhadap sifat fisik suspensi pirantel pamoat. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Farmasetika Politeknik Harapan Bersama Tegal, obyek yang diteliti adalah pengaruh CMC-Na, karbomer dan tragakan sebagai suspending agent terhadap sifat fisik suspensi pirantel pamoat. Suspending agent yang digunakan dari golongan berbeda-beda dengan konsentrasi yang sama masing – masing 1%. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa berdasarkan uji organoleptik dan uji pH tidak menunjukan perbedaan yang signifikan, sedangkan pada uji berat jenis, viskositas, serta sedimentasi selama 1 hari penyimpanan menunjukan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan.. Kata kunci : Pirantel pamoat, Suspensi, CMC, Karbomer dan Tragakan, Sifat Fisik
