FLOTATION TAILINGS IN CEMENT PASTE

Abstract

Flotation tailings, as a by-product in the process of obtaining metals from ore, represent a huge problem from ecology point of view. In addition to the fact that it is necessary to provide large areas for its disposal (usually these are natural valleys or basins), a major problem is its direct impact on surface and underground water, as well as air pollution with dust particles of the deposited material. That is why it, as a potential pollutant, is interesting, because many scientists deal with its application in new materials, which could be used in mining, construction and similar technical branches. In this paper, it will be shown how flotation tailings found their application in the creation of cement paste, which can be used in mining, for filling underground excavations, as well as in construction.
