Modern times are characterized by the growing threat of noise, which is one of the most important environmental threats to human health. Therefore, noise protection is one of the challenges of the modern world. The aim of the work is to recognize the importance of silence and the possibility of introducing content concerning it in geographic education. Among other things, the results of a survey conducted among Lublin schoolchildren and students (200 people) and the results of an analysis of textbooks and the basic program of education in the subject of geography in secondary school will be presented. Finally, proposals will be presented for introducing new content in geography education that takes into account noise protection and the importance of silence for society.
