Abstract

Abstract. Galangal is a biopharmaceutical commodity widely used as a traditional medicine and as a kitchen spice. This study aims to classify sub-districts in Bandung Regency based on the characteristics of galangal production and harvested area. The dat aused is secondary data from the Bandung Regency Central Statistics Agency in 2023, which includes information on galangal production and harvested are in 31 sub-districts. The method used is the complete linkage method, which is a technique in hierarchical cluster analysis that used the longest distance between objects to determine grouping. The advantage of this method lies in its ability to minimize the influence of outlier data on the formed cluster structure. The analysis results show that there are three clusters formed with a silhouette value of 0,84093. This value indicates that the formed cluster structure is included in the strong category. Each cluster has different characteristics in terms of average production and harvested area of galangal plants. The cluster with the highest value indicates the sub-district with great potential for galangal plant development in the Bandung Regency area. Based on these result, the complete linkage method proved effective in clustering regions based on similar characteristics of galangal plants Abstrak. Tanaman kencur merupakan salah satu komoditas biofarmaka yang banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan obat tradisional maupun sebagai bumbu dapur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengelompokkan kecamatan-kecamatan di Kabupaten Bandung berdasarkan karakteristik produksi dan luas panen tanaman kencur. Data yang digunakan merupakan data sekunder dari Badan Pusat Statistik Kabupaten Bandung tahun 2023 yang mencakup informasi produksi dan luas panen tanaman kencur pada 31 kecamatn. Metode yang digubakan adalah metode complete linkage, yaitu salah satu Teknik dalam analisis klaster hierarki yang menggunakan jarak terjauh antar objek dalam menentukan pengelompokan. Keunggulan metode ini terletak pada kemampuannya dalam meminimalkan pengaruh data pencilan terhadap struktur klaster yang terbentuk. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga klaster yang terbentuk dengan nilai silhouette sebesar 0,84093. Nilai tersebut menunjukkan bahwa struktur klaster yang terbentuk termasuk dalam kategori kuat. Masing-masing klaster memiliki karakteristik berbeda dalam hal rata-rata produksi dan luas panen tanaman kencur. Klaster dengan nilai tertinggi menandai kecamatan dengan potensi yang besar dalam pengembangan tanaman kencur di wilayah Kabupaten Bandung. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, metode complete linkage terbukti efektif dalam mengelompokkan wilayah berdasarkan kesamaan karakteristik tanaman kencur.
