
Abstract. Veiled muslim women in social interaction will face communication problems because their limitations are more easily recognized, one of which is that their faces are covered. In social interaction, they will have some problems because their appearance differs from the others. Because of that, Veiled muslim women need to adapt to their environment. This research was conducted to determine how muslim women build a relationship with others, how they communicate with others, and how they adjust to their extended family, campus environment and other. This research method used qualitative with a phenomenological approach of Alfred Schutz. The theories used are Self Disclosure Theory, Human Relations Theory and Social Penetration Theory. Abstrak. Muslimah bercadar dalam pergaulan sosial akan menghadapi berbagai kendala komunikasi, karena keterbatasan mereka untuk lebih mudah di kenali, salah satunya karena wajah mereka tertutup. Dalam pergaulan sehari-hari akan mengalami kendala dikarenakan penampilan mereka yang lain daripada yang lain. Hal-hal tersebut tentu memerlukan upaya muslimah bercadar untuk menyesuaikan diri dengan lingkungan sekitar yang tidak/belum bercadar. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui seorang muslimah membangun hubungan dengan orang lain, bagaimana hubungan komunikasi mereka dengan orang lain serta cara mereka menyesuaikan diri baik dengan keluarga besarnya, lingkungan kampus dan masyarakat lainnya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi Alfred Shcutz. Teori yang digunakan adalah Teori Self Disclousure, human relations dan Teori Penetrasi Sosial.
