Uji Sitotoksik Air Diaktivasi Plasma (ADP) dengan Metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT)

Abstract

Abstract. Plasma is the 4th form of matter after solid, liquid and gas, which is an ionized gas. This ionization converts the neutral molecules of the gas into negative and positive ions (active species). Active gas species that have the ability to treat cancer that is currently being developed in the world is Cold Activated Plasma (CAP) based treatment by producing Reactive Oxygen Nitrogen Species (RONS) which has the advantage of practically not using chemical or radioactive drugs. The study aims to prove the anticancer potential of Air Activated Plasma (ADP) using the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. The cold plasma used was created from the Incandescent Plasma Reactor with a voltage of 30 kV, the electrode distance from the test sample was 1.5 cm and the treatment time was 10, 15 and 20 minutes. Tests were carried out in triplicate using the ratio between BSLT media (Seawater) and ADP at the test time for 24 hours was 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3. The average results obtained for the percentage of shrimp larvae mortality were 10 minutes (43%, 50%, 70%), 15 minutes (73%, 73%, 97%) and 20 minutes (77%, 83% and 97%). Plasma-activated water (using Amidis) was shown to have potential as an anticancer.
