Studi Literatur: Kecemasan pada Penderita Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2

Abstract

Abstract. Diabetes mellitus is a common metabolic disorder associated with elevated blood glucose levels or hyperglycemia. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease so it can cause anxiety which can affect blood sugar control. This study aims to determine the effect of anxiety levels on people with type 2 diabetes mellitus from previous studies. The research method used is a literature study that originates from articles, journals, and books that aim to compile theories in this study which were published in 2012–2022. The results of the study show that there is an effect of anxiety on the condition of people with diabetes mellitus, namely unbalanced blood sugar control, this is due to increased blood sugar levels caused by the release of the ACTH hormone which is produced when anxiety occurs. The percentage of anxiety in people with diabetes mellitus is related to changes in health conditions and lifestyle to achieve therapeutic success.
