EFECTO DE LOS INCENDIOS EN LA ESTRUCTURA DEL SOTOBOSQUE DE UN ECOSISTEMA TEMPLADO

Abstract

El fuego es un factor natural que ejerce una importante influencia sobre la composición vegetal bajo el dosel. Existen escasos estudios que caractericen la estructura y evalúen las consecuencias de la modificación que resulta de los incendios en el sotobosque dentro de los ecosistemas mixtos del noreste de México. El objetivo de la presente investigación fue analizar la densidad, la cobertura de copa, la riqueza, la diversidad α y la β de este estrato en zonas con distintos estados sucesionales en un bosque de pino-encino en el noreste del país. Se seleccionaron tres áreas; dos según el año en el que sucedió el disturbio y otra como referencia: 1 (2006), 2 (1998) y 3 (bosque maduro, testigo). Y en 2009 se establecieron 40 sitios de muestreo de 1 m2 en cada sitio; los resultados indican que la cobertura de copa (F= 7.593, P= 0.001), la riqueza específica (F= 2.818, P= 0.064) y la diversidad (F= 2.516, P= 0.085) de la vegetación evaluada es significativamente mayor en las primeras etapas de la sucesión y disminuye conforme trascurre el tiempo. Existe igualdad estadística en la densidad (F= 0.653, P= 0.522); además los distintos estadios muestran importantes diferencias respecto a la composición (diversidad β), ya que en todos los casos hubo menos de 50 % de similitud.
