PROTOCOLO DE MEJORA CONTINUA PARA INCREMENTAR LA CALIDAD EN EL ESTUFADO DE MADERA

Abstract

Un método de secado muestra su efectividad a través de la coincidencia entre el contenido de humedad final y el deseado, siempre en relación con el uso que tendrá el producto terminado; es decir, constituye un eslabón esencial del procesamiento de la madera y el primer valor agregado aplicado en la cadena productiva. En el presente trabajo se describe un protocolo para optimizar el rendimiento de los recursos humanos y materiales disponibles para el secado de madera en estufa, proceso en el que, de manera “tradicional”, se introduce la madera aserrada al equipo y se aplican los programas de secado especificados por el fabricante. El procedimiento planteado se basa en los siguientes criterios fundamentales: apilado, operación de la estufa y programa de secado. Los trabajadores involucrados evaluaron el desarrollo de los cambios propuestos (mejora continua) en distintos tiempos, con la valoración de las variables definidas y en diferentes periodos. La modificación de las variables se advirtió desde la segunda medición. Se generaron inconformidades laborales, ya que el trabajo se torna más lento al demandar mayor cuidado, y como se paga por lo que se hace, no existe conveniencia económica para los operarios que regresan a trabajar a la forma tradicional. Se propone crear una política de control de calidad en la que se recompense a los operarios a medida que aporten mejoras al proceso de secado.
