Kolorektal Kanser ve D Vitamini

Abstract

Colorectal cancer is the third most common type of cancer inworld. One of the risk factors for colorectal cancer is low vitaminD level. Vitamin D deficiency is an increasing health problem inthe world. The active form of vitamin D is 1,25-dihydroxy vitaminD, known as calcitriol. This form is involved in some biologicalprocesses and immune system regulation. Vitamin D is associatedwith many types of cancer such as colon, breast, prostate. The highlevels of vitamin D, which has important effects in the treatmentprocess, has been found to be associated with better survival aftersurgery or chemotherapy treatment.
