El autor lleva la secuencia desde su tiempo de estudiante y su tiempo de profesor en la Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) hasta sus exhortaciones de defensa al estudio y ejercicio de la Medicina como un servicio de atención al ciudadano, más allá de la curación al enfermo.AbstractThis text is an autobiographical account that focuses on the ideas and experiences of the author in the area of community health. These are presented in a chronological sequence, from the time the author was a student, continues with his work as a professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), up until his defense of the study and practice of Medicine as a service to the citizens; that is, the author believes that it is a service that reaches far beyond the healing of the patient.
