Beneficiamento de Fibras da Bananeira: conservação, amaciamento e coloração

Abstract

Os substratos do pseudocaule da bananeira são materiais comumente utilizados no artesanato em todo o Brasil. No entanto, ainda há limitações em sua aplicação, tanto decorrentes da suscetibilidade ao ataque de fungos e insetos quanto da disponibilidade de cores. Nesse sentido, o objetivo desse artigo é apresentar o desenvolvimento dos processos de beneficiamento de materiais do pseudocaule da bananeira, em particular voltados à conservação, amaciamento e coloração. O desenvolvimento teve como foco as necessidades e possibilidades de um grupo de artesãs da região de Corupá/SC. São discutidos alguns aspectos teóricos sobre as características, processamento e utilização desse material. Na sequência, são apresentadas práticas empíricas, realizadas em laboratórios e insumos específicos para beneficiamento têxtil. Os resultados apontam que os processos de conservação com solução salina, amaciamento e tingimento com corantes têxteis é eficaz, resistente e facilmente aplicável. Conclui-se que o desenvolvimento tem potencial de expandir a diversidade de artefatos e aplicações do material, colaborando com a geração de renda para as famílias de bananicultoras.
