Design e Ativismo

Abstract

A crítica aos projetos históricos modernistas de matriz europeia/norteamericana levou, desde os anos 1960, à uma revisão de seus pressupostos e resultados a partir das perspectivas contraculturais e como reconfiguração do campo de forças político a partir das novas configurações do capitalismo ocidental. Com os processos de globalização e os reajustes geopolíticos, fluxo de deslocamentos permanentes desde o final da Guerra Fria, novas possibilidades de leitura e operação da e na arte edesign têm surgido privilegiando a crítica e transformação da realidade estabelecida.Dentro deste escopo, foram convidados pesquisadores, designers, artistas, ativistas que, dentro e fora da universidade, produzem e refletem no amplo território da arte, design e ativismo. Seus relatos oferecem um desenho denso e também panorâmico de possibilidades na abordagem do tema proposto e, principalmente, permitem ao leitor uma aproximação ao pretendido pelas editoras do dossiê: apontar para formas transformadoras e comprometidas com a realidade social que arte e design podem tomar. Foram privilegiadas as propostas de autores e pesquisas que abordam ou dialogam com as práticas americanas, latino-americanas e brasileiras, assim como fica claro, graças às contribuições recebidas, a incorporação do debate educacional em confluência com os campos temáticos indicados no dossiê.
