Fractura de cuboides aislada en un mecanismo de baja energía. Reporte de caso.

Abstract

Se presentó una paciente de 22 años a consulta externa con historia de caída de propia altura y mecanismo de inversión forzada del tobillo izquierdo de 24 horas de evolución. La paciente sufría dolor intenso E.V.A. 8/10 que no mejoró con ibuprofeno y que empeoró por la noche. No toleraba el apoyo total de la extremidad. A la exploración física presentaba equimosis, aumento de volumen moderado y dolor a la palpación superficial del aspecto lateral del tobillo y pie. Los estudios diagnosticos realizados demostraron evidencia de fractura del hueso cuboides. El manejo de la fractura se baso en la utilizacion de fibra de vidrio suropodalica sin movilidad por el tiempo de 4 semanas. La paciente no tuvo restricciones para las actividades de la vida diaria y en 4 meses de evolucion se reincorporó a sus actividades deportivas.
