
El objetivo de este ensayo es realizar un análisis sobre la película “El Artista” dirigida por Gastón Duprat y Mariano Cohn (2008) y su estrecha relación con la película sueca “The square” dirigida por Ruben Östlund (2017). Ambos largometrajes presentan el mundo del arte contemporáneo desde el mercado, donde el objeto artístico es una mercancía; creando un juego de paralelos entre el valor económico de la obra de arte y su valor simbólico, haciendo patente un territorio donde la creación artística y el artista son un elemento menor en un gran engranaje neoliberal.
