Primer registro de la cotorra argentina (Myiopsitta monachus) en Guerrero, México

Abstract

Reportamos por primera vez la presencia de la cotorra argentina (Myiopsitta monachus) en la ciudad de Chilpancingo, en el estado de Guerrero, México. Entre el 6 y 7 de mayo de 2014 observamos siete individuos de la cotorra argentina pechando y forrajeando en un árbol de tulipán africano (Spathodea campanulata). Dado que no encontramos registros de animación, desconocemos el estatus reproductor de la población, aunque futuras investigaciones deberán estar encaminadas a esclarecer la situación reproductora de esta población y las posibles afectaciones que ésta pudiera causar.
