Primer registro de la cotorra argentina (Myiopsitta monachus) en Baja California Sur, México

Abstract

La cotorra argentina (Myiopsitta monachus) es un ave de la familia Psittacidae que se distribuye de manera nativa en Sudamérica, con poblaciones asilvestradas en otros países fuera de su distribución original. En México, existen cuatro reportes publicados en revistas científicas sobre nuevos avistamientos en los estados de Querétaro, Área metropolitana del DF, Michoacán y Oaxaca, pero, a la fecha, en la parte norte del país no hay evidencia de su presencia. Para la Península de Baja California no hay registros bien documentados de su existencia, por ello reportamos por primera vez nuevos avistamientos y sitios de anidación en el poblado de Guerrero Negro, Baja California Sur, México.
