La guacamaya verde (Ara militaris) en la Sierra Madre del Sur, Guerrero, México

Abstract

Registramos a la guacamaya verde (Ara militaris) en algunas localidades de la Sierra Madre del Sur en Guerrero. Aunque esta especie está considerada en la avifauna estatal, no existían registros de su presencia en los últimos 20 años. Las fechas de registro sugieren la posibilidad de que los grupos observados podrían haber estado formados por adultos y juveniles y que la zona sea un sitio de reproducción. Sugerimos continuar con estudios locales de esta especie a fin de esclarecer su situación reproductora y estacional en la zona.
