ESPASMO CADAVÉRICO

Abstract

Paciente de 87 años de edad con diagnóstico de enfermedad pulmonar obstructiva crónica, más diagnóstico de neumonía sobre infectada con COVID 19, realiza parada cardio respiratoria, por lo que se inicia RCP, Básico sin respuesta a los 25 min se suspende maniobras y se declara muerte del individuo, llamando la atención rigidez instantánea de cuello. El espasmo cadavérico, llamado signo de Puppe o de Taylor, es una rigidez instantánea, inmediata a la muerte, que fija la actitud o postura que tenía el individuo en el momento de morir.14 Generalmente se localiza en un segmento corporal y excepcionalmente en todo el cuerpo, se presenta preferentemente en las muertes violentas por lesiones del sistema nervioso central, corazón, fulguración, y se puede presentar en casos de víctimas de ahogamiento que quedan agarrados a la hierba, pastos u otros materiales y proveen evidencia de vida en el momento de entrada al agua. El individuo estaba en plena actividad muscular (contracción) y bajo una intensa emoción. El espasmo cadavérico a menudo cristaliza la última actividad que el inerte realizó antes de la muerte.
