Abstract

A hérnia perineal é uma patologia comum em cães idosos, caracterizada pelo deslocamento caudal de estruturas abdominais e pélvicas para o períneo. Neste estudo objetivou-se avaliar a viabilidade e aplicabilidade da associação das técnicas de colopexia, deferentopexia e auto enxerto pediculado de túnica vaginal para a oclusão do anel herniário via acesso abdominal em um cão geriatra portador de hérnia perineal unilateral direita, não complicada. O procedimento cirúrgico consistiu de três tempos cirúrgicos, sendo o primeiro a realização de orquiectomia fechada, seguido do autoenxerto pediculado via abdominal e posteriormente, em um terceiro tempo cirúrgico, realizadas a deferentopexia e colopexia. O animal foi avaliado durante período de 360 dias após cirurgia mediante avaliações clínicas e ultrassonográficas sem evidencia de complicações ou recidiva. Diante dos resultados obtidos, concluiu-se que, a associação das técnicas cirúrgicas foi eficaz no tratamento da hérnia perineal em cão geriatra.
