Abstract

O presente texto foi preparado por Hannah Arendt no outono de 1953 para uma conferência na Universidade de Nova York. O manuscrito base para a tradução possui inúmeras modificações e marcações feita a mão e em máquina de escrever. Trata-se de um texto cujo tema Arendt irá pensar e redigir textos na década de 1950 e 1960. Mas, cabe lembrar, trata-se ainda de um tópico cuja compreensão de Arendt se modificará em alguns aspectos com o passar do tempo e com o andamento de suas pesquisas e reflexões.
