Abstract

Turkiye’de hâkim olan tarih anlatisinda Tanzimat Fermani Batililasma’nin ve sekulerlesmenin dogum belgesidir. Tanzimat devrini laik Turkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin onceli olarak kurgulayan anlatiya gore fermani Avrupa gormus ve yabanci dil ogrenmis aydin burokrat Resid Pasa hazirladi. Hem genc padisah hem devrin ileri gelen ricali ve ulemasi olaylara sadece seyirci kaldi. Butrus Abu-Manneh Tanzimat devri hakkindaki bu hâkim anlayisa meydan okudu, hem de nesildasi Osmanli tarihcileri tarafindan ihmal edilmesine sebep olacak bir israrla.
