Abstract

El cáncer es una causa de muerte cada vez más frecuente en el Perú. Cuando examinamos los datos, vemos un cambio significativo entre 1990 y 2019. En 1990, el cáncer representó aproximadamente el 10% de las muertes masculinas, lo que significa que una de cada diez muertes entre hombres se debió al cáncer. Para las mujeres, esta cifra rondaba el 12%. Si avanzamos hasta 2019, estos porcentajes casi se han duplicado. En ambos años, es evidente que las mujeres experimentan una mayor tasa de mortalidad por cáncer en comparación con los hombres, lo que hace que el cáncer sea una causa de muerte cada vez más importante en el Perú. (...) En conclusión, si bien he presentado varias opciones para su consideración, la solución más efectiva será aquella que los peruanos elijan por sí mismos. Una solución local adaptada a las necesidades únicas del Perú producirá los mejores resultados. Los animo a continuar por este camino y estoy aquí para ofrecerles apoyo en todo lo posible.
