Abstract

El artículo condensa los puntos centrales de una investigación en curso para tesis de maestría, la cual, desde una perspectiva interesada por la producción social de significaciones, propone un análisis de los modos en que la figura de “los vecinos” adquiere peso en relación con procesos políticos y de transformación urbana en la ciudad de Buenos Aires durante el período 2007-2011. Se afirma que en el contexto citado los vecinos se construyen como un actor legítimo de reclamos a las autoridades, al tiempo que en su nombre se realizan intervenciones y transformaciones urbanas por parte de la administración local. En la investigación se caracterizan diferentes discursos: vecinal, securitario, patrimonial-ambientalista. Se sostiene que, contra la suposición de que “vecinos” es un término que alude de manera general a “habitantes de la ciudad”, en cada uno de dichos discursos se los construye de maneras diversas, de acuerdo con sus demandas, con sus relaciones con otras figuras (los “políticos”, las “empresas”, los “delincuentes”, los “vendedores ambulantes”, etc.), así como con concepciones de la política y de la ciudad. Para el análisis se toman enunciados de organizaciones que se autodenominan vecinales así como de actores vinculados con distintas instancias de gobierno local. En el plano teórico, se procura avanzar sobre interrogantes relativos a la relación entre identidades políticas y concepciones del espacio, así como sobre los vínculos entre discurso, política y subjetividad.
