The aim of the present thesis is to study the immunohistochemical grade of the expression of CD34 in oral lichen planus. This is anobservational case control study with a control group. We selected 30 samples that have been histologically diagnosed as oral lichen planus and 30 samples of healthy oral mucosa. All samples were immunohistochemically stained with antibodies to CD34. The assessment was carried out at the level of all cells with brown cytoplasmic staining except the endothelial cells. . In addition the lymphocytic infiltration, the age, the sex, the clinical type of oral lichen planus, the histological type and also the taking or not of antidepressesive drugs ��SSRIs or tranquillizer drugs-type benzodiazepines were assessed
