The purpose of this thesis was to study the Platonic theory of justice as developed in Plato's Republic, and the criticism of Karl Popper. We approached many of the issues raised in the text of the Republic, as the Platonic soul, the virtues, education, happiness and political systems, attempting with such an intrusive investigation to draw firm conclusions about the complex issue of justice. At first, we outlined the personality of Plato, described the time in which he lived and wrote his work, aiming to evaluate the data while taking into account specific time in which it was written. Then, we presented in detail the positions of Popper, on both Plato and his Republic. We discussed the categories on historicism, closed societies and totalitarianism and reported in detail the theory of the open society and its enemies. In addition, we made a brief but comprehensive reference to the life and work of Popper. We also discussed some indicative criticism from intellectuals in Greece and abroad, on Popper's criticism of Plato's political ��� totalitarian, according to Popper - theory. Finally, we concluded that the truth of the matter lies somewhere in the middle, depending on the time and the social - political conditions.
