
The inscription of the subjectivity is an essential feature of the process of creation of the essay film. Two modes gained prominence and intensified themselves in contemporary times: the presence of the filmmaker with his/her body in the visual image and the presence through filmmakers’ voice in the sound image. Often there is a simultaneity of both modes. But there is a third mode of this inscription in which its presence is virtualized, actualizing itself in the creation of “intercessors” / “conceptual characters” / “aesthetic figures”.
