Die Mediziner als Avantgarde der politischen Umgestaltung seit der Tanzimat-Periode

Abstract

Ziel dieses Artikels ist es, auf den besonderen Beitrag der muslimischen und nichtmuslimischen osmanischen Mediziner sowie der ausländischen Ärzte zur Transformation des Osmanischen Reiches seit dem 19. Jh. hinzuweisen. Dies geschieht vor dem Hintergrund einer kurzen Darstellung des Reformprozesses im Gesundheitswesen.
