Thermomechanics of photovoltaic modules

Abstract

In einem kristallinen Photovoltaikmodul sind Solarzellen aus bruchanfälligen Siliziumwafern elektrisch miteinander verbunden und in einem transparenten Polymer (EVA) zwischen Glas und einer Rückseitenfolie eingebettet. Während der Lebensdauer eines solchen Moduls treten Temperaturschwankungen auf, die auf Grund der unterschiedlichen thermischen Ausdehnungen der einzelnen Materialschichten im Modul zu thermomechanischen Spannungen führen. In dieser Arbeit werden diese thermomechanischen Spannungen und Verformungen ermittelt. Mit Hilfe der Digitalen Bildkorrelation werden die Änderungen des Abstands zwischen zwei benachbarten Zellen im 125 mm x 125 mm Format zu 0.5 um/°C bestimmt. Für die Finite-Elemente-Simulation eines Moduls werden drei verschiedene Materialmodelle für den Kunststoff EVA aus mechanischen Tests abgeleitet: linear elastisch, T-abhängig linear elastisch und viskoelastisch. Die Simulation mit dem viskoelastischen Materialmodell liefert die beste Übereinstimmung mit dem Spalt-Experiment und wird für eine dreidimensionale numerische Analyse eines 60-Zellen-Moduls verwendet. Die so simulierten Spannungen erreichen bei -40°C etwa -75 MPa in den Zellen und Verformungen von bis zu 20% in den EVA-Schichten. Als entscheidende Größe für diese Werte wird der Unterschied im thermischen Ausdehnungkoeffizienten zwischen Frontglas und Solarzellen identifiziert.
