Gekränkt durch die Lehrperson

Abstract

This master's thesis investigates the perception and coping strategies related to demeaning teacher behavior, as well as its long-term effects on former students. Through problem-centered interviews with eleven participants aged 20 to 30, theoretical saturation has been achieved. Interviewees were selected using theoretical sampling according to Grounded Theory principles to ensure diverse perspectives. The combination of Grounded Theory with problem-centered interviews provided a detailed insight into the research field. While the problem-centered interview provided a structured research process, it was connected with the overarching methodology of Grounded Theory to allow for a comprehensive and inductive analysis of the data. The findings emphasize the importance of respectful and supportive teacher attitudes, as well as structural changes in the education system to create a positive learning environment for all stakeholders. This work contributes to further research in the field of teacher-student relationships and the psychosocial development of students, providing insights for designing effective interventions and prevention strategies.
