Gerenciamento de risco de enchente: o caso Palmares

Abstract

Os acontecimentos recorrentes de enchentes na area do municipio de Palmares, principalmente os de maiores intensidades no ano de 2010, causaram serios prejuizos a populacao. Diante desta realidade este trabalho visa levantar subsidios para analise e descricao das interacoes entre aspectos geofisicos e fatores urbanos, considerando que os desastres ambientais nao se resumem a acao da natureza. Acoes humanas de ocupacao desordenada e degradacao do meio ambiente estao tambem relacionadas a tais desastres. Desta forma, estudar as areas de risco nao e apenas estimar a ocorrencia de eventos, no caso as inundacoes, mas e aliar tal estudo a um conjunto de recomendacoes que possam contribuir socialmente, para minimizar danos futuros
