El modelo periglacial de los abanicos aluviales telescópicos: análisis en dos cuencas precordilleranas (31º 51’ S y 68º 28’ W)

Abstract

Resumen: Este trabajo muestra un modelo de distribución de abanicos aluviales segmentados o también llamados telescópicos en dos cuencas afluentes del río San Juan, dentro del ambiente de Precordillera, provincia de San Juan, Argentina. Las cuencas se ubican entre los 31º 31´ 23¨ S y 68º 53` 44”O y los 31º31’04´´S y 68º55`20´´O, entre los 926 y los 905 m.s.n.m. respectivamente. Los análisis morfográficos y morfométricos de los abanicos-terrazas que conforman los abanicos telescópicos, a través de análisis de imágenes satelitales y fotografías aéreas, arrojaron resultados que demuestran una mínima participación de la actividad tectónica local. Solo a partir del abanico-terraza 2 se presenta un quiebre de pendiente que podría explicarse a esa actividad. Los ensayos de laboratorio efectuados mediante diferentes relaciones de w/s (agua versus sedimentos), con una pendiente constante de la cuenca, dieron modelos de los diferentes abanicos-terrazas. Las sucesiones entre flujos de diferentes w/s sería la causa predominante de la disposición segmentada de estos abanicos. Los procesos estarían vinculados a episodios más fríos con abundante producción de sedimentos finos crioclásticos y más cálidos y húmedos que facilitaron el transporte y la formación de distintos flujos. Estos abanicos telescópicos responderían a un modelo periglacial instalado en el ambiente de Precordillera, en el sector de los Andes Centrales. Se concluye que la formación de los distintos niveles de abanicos-terrazas que componen un sistema telescópico, se forman por diferencias en la relación carga sedimentaria versus disponibilidad de agua y que los abanicos segmentados no siempre tienen edades menores aguas abajo.
