Abstract

Objetivo: Discutir e revisar sobre os aspectos gerais inerentes ao Carcinoma Espinocelular Cutâneo (CEC). Revisão bibliográfica: O CEC é o segundo câncer de pele não melanoma mais comum e os principais fatores de risco são exposição à radiação ultravioleta, pele clara, imunossupressão e idade. A suspeita começa na interpretação de informações clínicas, como a história do paciente, localização anatômica, morfologia e aparência. Os subtipos são a CEC in situ, ceratoacantoma e CEC invasiva. Ainda não existe um sistema de estadiamento universalmente aceito para a CEC. O tratamento de primeira linha é a excisão cirúrgica, sendo a cirurgia micrográfica de Mohs a mais eficiente e com altas taxas de cura. Porém, em casos avançados, é comum utilizar outras terapias adjuvantes. Considerações Finais: Devido sua crescente incidência, o CEC vem ganhando grande atenção na prática clínica. No entanto, ainda há dificuldades de estabelecer um estadiamento universal, bem como entender seu prognóstico. Portanto, mais estudos são necessários para estabelecer um estadiamento universalmente aceito e tratamento curativo para todos os tipos de CEC.
